The buoyancy of the inner sea

We are water and salt, after all

What is left of ourselves when the world is no longer there?

Is there only silence when we are alone in the dark, or can our thoughts and feelings emerge free in a time space without noise?

With the world blocked from our senses, and submerged in almost primordial warm water, do ideas float free as our bodies soak in the salt around them?

Without light touching our eyes, can the images of the mind be more vivid?

What is it like to take a break from everything - literally - and spend some time floating in ourselves?

As I took a dive into a dark and silent bath, I had these and a baker’s dozen questions, and yet didn’t know what to expect. I let go of all tension, and allowed the pool of salty water to hold me almost on the very edge of its surface. Then I dived into my mind, without any distractions, and I found that spending time with oneself can be a fantastic experience. After 90 minutes of thoughts, vivid images, and almost absolute nothingness, I emerged energized, almost reborn, happy of spending some time floating in my inner sea.
